What is EcoCampus?
The EcoCampus programme has been developed by Loreus as a structured package of support services and resources designed specifically to help higher education institutions implement an Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
The programme includes e-learning materials, template documentation, guided examples, and expert support to assist institutions throughout the EMS development process.
EcoCampus breaks down the often complex process of developing an EMS into four clear and manageable phases, with certification available at each stage to demonstrate progress:
- Bronze Phase – Planning
- Silver Phase – Implementation
- Gold Phase – Operation
- Platinum Phase – Checking, corrective action, and continual improvement
The four phases of the EcoCampus programme are aligned with the requirements of ISO 14001, providing a clear pathway towards full ISO 14001 certification for institutions that wish to pursue this.
